The Perfect Crop Top

I Loved this T-shirt to death, but didn't wear it out for quite some time.

The fit of it was just so straight, slim, and...

...BORING.

Let's do some surgery.

Keep the T-Shirt you want to crop on and begin to fold it up to a length that works for you. I usually like to do this right above the rise of my jeans.

Make sure the back is even with the front. Use a mirror to see if needed.

Stretch the part you folded outward from the sides to hold it in place.

With a marker, choose a side and draw a small line on the fold of the shirt.

Take the shirt off, turn it inside out, and find your guideline.

Now get those scissors out and begin to cut straight across the shirt. Stop at the guideline.

After stopping at the guideline, fold the remaining portion you need to cut off, under the newly cropped part of the shirt.

Follow the fold and continue cutting straight across until the shirt is completely cropped.

If you don't feel comfortable about following the fold, another great way to achieve the crop is to continue the guideline you made on the side with a marker and ruler straight across the shirt.

Time to fix the sleeves. Turn the shirt...outside out? haha The way you would normally wear it, and begin to cut the sleeve following the seem. Continue cutting straight across until it is completely cut off.

Stretch the freshly cut sleeve outward from the sides, while rolling it inward.

Although these rolls on cut T-shirts happen over time with wash and wear, I like to do this to encourage it to happen faster.

Cut and repeat the rolling on the other sleeve. Don't forget to stretch and roll the bottom of the shirt inward as well. Your T-shirt should look like this :)

Making A Slouchy Neckline.
This is optional, but it's something I usually end up doing.

Measure out about one inch and begin to cut around the collar of the T-shirt.

Continue evenly cutting around the collar...

...until it's completely gone.

Stretch and roll the collar inward.

Put your fresh new/ old top on and you're set!

You can also continue to stretch and roll the shirt while wearing it.

Later Gators.
